Collective agreement negotiations launched for technology industries’ employees

Negotiations on a new national collective agreement for technology industry employees are set to begin. Technology Industry Employers of Finland and the Industrial Union will begin official agreement negotiations on Friday 22nd of October.

“The aim is to negotiate a new collective agreement before the end of November, when the current agreement expires. Despite the short schedule, this is possible if both sides are willing”, says CEO Jarkko Ruohoniemi of Technology Industries of Finland.

“We hope that all sectors represented by our agreements can begin negotiations as quickly as possible. Negotiations in the IT services sector have already begun”, Ruohoniemi says.

The main goals of Technology Industry Employers of Finland for the autumn labour market negotiations are:

  • Export-driven and responsible labour market agreements that improve and safeguard the competitiveness of export companies and Finnish work, and thus a high level of employment.
  • To reform collective agreements and increase opportunities for company-level agreements.
  • To ensure an undisrupted and stable business environment.
