Negotiations begun in the IT services sector

Negotiations on a new national collective agreement for the IT services sector began on Tuesday 19th of October. The parties are Technology Industry Employers of Finland, the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN) and the Association of IT Sector Employees.

“The negotiations are now officially under way, but these are by no means the first discussions on this matter. The aim is to negotiate the new agreement before the end of November, that is, before the old agreement expires,” says Anne Somer, Director of Technology Industry Employers of Finland.

Not many IT service companies are members of Technology Industry Employers of Finland, and it looks like the new agreement will not achieve universal applicability. The universal applicability of the agreement will be determined in time by the committee for confirming the general applicability of collective agreements, which operates in connection with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
