Negotiations for the collective agreement for employees and salaried employees have broken off without result

The negotiations for the new collective agreement for employees in the technology industry have broken off for the time being. The Industrial Union announced today on Monday after brief negotiations that there are no prerequisites for continuing the negotiations.

Later in the evening the negotiations regarding the technology industry and the consulting sector with The Trade Union Pro and The Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff YTN have broken off without result. Negotiations regarding the IT service sector with The Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff YTN and the Association of IT Sector Employees continue on January 24th.

–  The Technology Industry Employers of Finland is still prepared to continue the negotiations but reaching a solution would admittedly require a change in the positioning within the negotiations. The parties still have very different views on the level of the pay settlement even though the Technology Industry Employers of Finland has been understanding towards the concerns of the trade unions and the employees they represent, said Jarkko Ruohoniemi CEO of the Technology Industry Employers of Finland after the negotiations for the collective agreement for the employees in the technology industry had concluded.

– The negotiators, excluding the IT service sector, have however reached a mutual understanding on so-called text questions, meaning the possible provisional changes to the collective agreement, said Ruohoniemi.

The collective agreements negotiated by the Technology Industry Employers of Finland have expired in the end of November 2022 and the industry has had a non-contractual status since the beginning of December 2022.
